A couple of the new paintings for my current show, there are five total.

The concept is around a lightning storm that explodes over the city which ignites the atmosphere so that souls roam amongst the living. The idea came to me one of those spots in between dreams.

I mainly did images beyond the Ghoststorm (as I have called it) that are focused on particular “spirits”. My newest obsession is trying for abstract representation of a soul. In an empathetic sense, I can attempt to explore an individual past all of their superficial means — by mapping symbols to their experiences and inner scope.

the other painting included is titled “sokushinbutsu” after a controversial ancient buddhist practice of self mummification. To put it very shortly, the idea was that a city is much like a mass grave.
